Spicy Fish Fry

This is the easy recipe specially for fish lovers . No need for marination. You can start frying fish as soon as you finished coating it. But people who have time for marination can marinate this for 20 mins. This is purely optional. I haven't notice any difference between marinated fish fry and the other one.

So i prefer to make this dish whenever there is dal rice. It goes well with dal rice and rasam rice.



  • ½ lb King fish
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 string curry leaves(finely chopped)
  • pinch of turmeric powder(optional)
  • 1 tsp vinegar/lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
Step 1:

Clean the fish and cut into pieces.

Step 2:

In a bowl mix all the ingredients together except fish. Finally add the fish pieces and coat the fish with the above mixture.

Step 3:

Heat a non-stick pan and fry the fish pieces in medium flame for 4 min. After 4 min flip it to the other side and fry it for 3 mins.

Note:

No need to add oil when frying fish,because we have already added oil during first stage itself.

Hi Viji,

i tried your recipe and it came out good. i baked the fish instead of frying, i did not add oil in the marinate also. Spicy and tasty fish!

Hi Shan i'm doing fine. Baking fish is also very easy. Just marinate the fish with all spices. Spray the baking tray with some oil. Preheat oven to 400 F. Bake the fish for 10 mins. Flip the fish once and bake it again for 5 to 7 mins till its done
